A great shot of the sort of creature that we hope to find here in eastern Ohio

Welcome fellow Bigfoot hunters

I have lived my entire life in eastern Ohio and have always had an interest in Bigfoot. But, one night in the mid 1980's I had an encounter with what I am convinced was a Bigfoot.

I was walking along a township road near my rural home when I heard something walking through the cornfield next to the road. It was some distance away and I assumed that it was a deer. But then it started getting closer so I started to whistle thinking that I would make my presence known and the deer would move away.

Instead, it came crashing through the field in my direction...fast. I took off down the road toward home but did not get far before whatever it was came crashing through the edge of the cornfield next to the road and it roared/screamed like nothing I have ever heard. I could not get home fast enough and fortunately it did not persue me beyond the edge of the roadway.

I had not heard anything like the vocalization of that night until I was watching one of the Bigfoot programs on televison. They were playing alleged Bigfoot screams and the hair on the back of my neck stood up...it brought the whole experience back to my mind. I was relieved that others have heard the same thing.

I have told very few about my experience due to the ridicule that you are bound to get from most people. But, I am ready to work on solving the mystery of Bigfoot.

There have been numerous sightings throughout Ohio, many of them in the eastern portion of the state. This blog has been created to track and record any sightings or reports of vocalizations in eastern Ohio. If you have an experience that you would like to share it would be greatly appreciated.

You do not need to leave your real name if you wish to remain anonymous. But please include the location of the event, the date and time that it happened, and a detailed summary. Feel free to post any relevant pictures.

The information will be used to track the locations of sightings. Exceptional and credible sights may spur an on site investigation.

Thank you,
EOBRC
